The Z06 has been one of the most capable sports cars around and this 2015 version now sports a supercharged 6.2-liter V8 that pushes out at least 625 hp via an 8-speed paddle shift automatic (or 7-speed manual) transmission. It uses the same driving technologies that the Corvette Stingray has and also features the same aluminum frame that’s now being produced in-house at General Motors’ Bowling Green, OH assembly plant.
There’s also a track-focused Z07 package available that adds unique exterior components for addition aerodynamic downforce, Michelin Pilot Super Sport Cup tires and Brembo carbon ceramic-matrix brake rotors. During its first big outing at the track, the Z06 recorded some of the fastest lap times ever for a Corvette, even surpassing the ZR1.
