Forgiving the end-of-title pun, there are plenty of great deals available already on popular, powerful DSLR lenses from the major manufacturers. Right now BuyDig is having a sale on select Canon lenses via their eBay account. So for those in the know with a Canon EF mount DSLR, you can get great deals on a wide range of focal lengths.

For those with an upper-tier full-frame Canon camera body, you can’t go wrong with the Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for versatile coverage of the telephoto range. At most review sites, 99% or more of reviewers are willing to recommend this lens to a friend. The lens features an ultrasonic focus motor for silent, silky-smooth, precise locking in of subjects, a relatively wide 2.8 aperture at 70mm, and dust/moisture-resistant sealing. At $1,799 (price-matched at Amazon) after $300 mail-in rebate, this pretty bit of kit doesn’t come cheap, but it’s a solid savings compared to other offers, which start at a minimum of $270 more, rebate included.

Canon EF 70-200mm f/2.8L IS II USM Telephoto Zoom Lens for $1,799 UPDATE: Now $2,199.99 with free shipping (normally $3,999.99 – use this form).

For a fixed focal length “prime” lens option, there’s also the Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens. While BuyDig’s eBay account is selling the lens for $875, Amazon is price-matching and also linking to a $150 rebate from Canon. The rebate applies to any authorized Canon dealer, and since both Amazon and BuyDig are part of that list, you should be able to achieve a final price of only $725 no matter who you patronize. That’s a very solid savings of $184 off the current next best price around. (It’s also worth mentioning most other retailers are at the $1,050 mark and above.) This is a very solid lens with superior optical characteristics, with laudatory reviews from thousands of happy owners.

Canon EF 100mm f/2.8L Macro IS USM Lens for $724.99 UPDATE: Now $899 with free shipping (normally $1,699.99 – use this form). Cheapest ever by $150.

And finally, for those just starting out and looking to get additional zoom range on top of the typical 18-55mm kit lens included with many popular entry-level DSLRs (namely, the Rebel line), you can pick up a Canon EF 75-300mm F4-5.6 III Lens for $80. While its price and characteristics are more modest than the previous two lenses, the optical quality should still be good and reviews are quite positive, especially for the versatile value you get for the price. Amazon is NOT price-matching this – if you bought from Amazon right now, you’d pay $199. Other reputable retailers are charging $140 and up, so proportionally, this lens it the greatest mentioned savings in BuyDig’s sale.

Canon EF 75-300mm F4-5.6 III Lens for $79.99 UPDATE: Deal is now expired with free shipping (normally $349.99).
