Some of us are bold enough to take our iPhones around with no case. Some of us, however, are not, or are in areas where conditions are so extreme, they need the toughest case humanly possible. That’s what the Atlas ID purports to be.
Neither Dust Nor Water Nor Gamma Rays…
All right, so perhaps it won’t defend, directly, against gamma radiation, but there’s no denying that the Atlas ID is pretty tough. It starts with the most basic form of protection, a waterproof seal. You can’t go diving with your iPhone; the seal is only good for up to two meters for about thirty minutes. But if you drop your phone in the toilet, you can pull it out and wash it.
Proof Of Battery Life
Next, there’s the shock absorbent inner core, to protect your phone against impacts and drops, probably the second most common disaster to befall iPhones (seriously, that toilet thing happens a lot). If that’s not quite enough for you, the screen is further protected by scratch resistant tempered glass, meaning your screen won’t take the hit first.
You don’t lose any functionality, either. The Touch ID feature will still work, and you’ve got easy access to the headphone and Thunderbolt ports. You’ll also get acoustic design that means the phone calls you get won’t lose any audio quality. And let’s face it, with the iPhone, that’s going to be a major concern with or without a case.
Realistically, as over the top as cases like this can seem, they’re often very necessary for some of us. Especially if you’ve got your phone out a lot, or just need to ensure that it’s always up and running, the Atlas ID is built from the ground up to be tough enough. It’s currently available for $90.
