Lexus is going to debut an aggressively sleek ride at the Tokyo Auto Show later this month with their all-new Lexus RC luxury sport coupe. The “concept to reality” RC Coupe features exterior design cues from the LF-LC Concept that was shown earlier this year at the Frankfurt Motor Show while also incorporating the lowest and widest application of the Lexus signature spindle grille. The aluminum wheels also continues the concept-to-production design philosophy with two combinations – a deeply sculpted 10-spoke 19-inch wheel or a muscular five-spoke 18-inch version, with each set precision-machined and finished with elegant black and platinum center caps.
The cabin is pure perfection with its contrasting trim, supple leather and technological advances like the Lexus first Remote Touch Interface. The driver’s cockpit is sectioned into operational and display zones. The upper zone houses the instrument panel and a seven-inch navigation screen while a layered center console integrates the new Remote Touch Interface. But the pinnacle of the interior is Lexus’ use of Shimamoku wood highlights, which is a painstaking wood laminate process that can take more than a month to create a steering wheel. Two models will be displayed: the RC 350 with a 3.5-liter V6 engine, and the RC 300h hybrid with a 2.5-liter engine.
