To put it mildly, automated bartenders are a costly, as well as a complicated endeavor.  Case in point: the Monsieur or the Bartendro.  Fortunately, there is an alternative.  And an alternative that costs just a fraction of the aforementioned models and at the same time negates much of the complexity of mixing a perfect drink.

It’s called the Perfect Drink App-Controlled Smart Bartender.  Okay, so it’s not automated.  But it’s not a far cry since the accompanying iPad app works in tandem with the included scale that tells you just how much to pour.  Moreover, the onscreen instructions should work in real time to tell you what alcohol to pour in addition to telling you when to start and stop pouring.

I’ve yet to use the app, but it’s my best guess that you simply choose the drink of your choice from the menu.  And provided you’ve got the scale plugged into the headphone jack of the iPad, the instructions on what to do next, down to “priming” the lime, will begin to roll.

You can buy this iPad Bar Tending app and scale from the Fancy for $70.
