The new Q30 Concept from Infiniti was made to challenge categorization since it’s neither a coupe, hatch or crossover. Instead it’s a fusion of all three and the future of Infiniti. With its head-turning design cues, the stylish concept was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show back in September and will compete with the Audi A3 and Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class, targeted toward a younger audience who want to venture into luxury vehicles and can afford its mid-range MSRP. Style elements include Q50-like headlights and grille, dramatic character profile lines and a redone C-pillar that are all supposed to appeal to a younger market. It’s unique wheels-at-the-corners stance provides it with an aggressive look (like a sports car), yet provides a dynamic ride.
Genuine carbon fiber was incorporated throughout the concept, with the lightweight performance further communicated via violet highlights against these carbon fiber surfaces. The inner spokes of its 20-inch wheels also feature violet accents that stand out, further adding to the concept’s unique personality. InsideThe there’s a lot of violet lighting, soft and supple leather and bronzed touchpoints. The Q30 Concept’s design strategy will inspire a production version that’s scheduled to be produced in the beginning of 2015.
