Still looking for an iPhone 5s? I know I am. Last time I checked, which was almost a few weeks ago, there was a 30 minute wait and all 16GB models had been completely sold out. And from what I remember, Apple’s website used to include a simple to use tool to check store inventory, that is until they got rid of it sometime last year, if not longer ago.
That is until now. If you head to Apple’s online store you can now plug in your order and you can see what’s available in your area. It’s not the most practical means to finding the right iPhone 5s, especially if you’re debating between color, capacity, and perhaps even the location where you’d like to pick it up.
Fortunately, there is some good (and bad news). The good news is that developer Mordy Tikotzky is scraping Apple’s site, and you can now check iPhone 5s availability in your area simply by punching your zip code, carrier and capacity on iPhone-check. The bad news is that now everyone and their mother can easily check if their local store has it in stock. So if I were you, which I am because I’ll be buying one today, I’d hurry up and get a purchasing. And if you even want to go a step further, Apple now allows you to purchase the iPhone 5s online and reserve it for “in store” pickup. I’m not sure if this will negate the whole waiting in line, but it’s probably worth a shot.
