Ice cream is, of course, delicious. Unless you’re lactose intolerant, in which case, sorbet is, of course, delicious. But whether you like your icy desserts thick and rich or sweet and light, one thing stays the same; scooping them is a pain in the butt. Unless you’ve got a Belle-V Ice Cream Scoop
Simplicity, All Is Simplicity
First, yes, it’s an ice cream scoop, but it’s not a particularly gimmicky one. There’s no coating on the scoop that means you have to hand-wash it, or some mechanism you have to use to try and get the ice cream off the freaking scoop. In fact, aside from an optional Teflon coating, this works solely by using ergonomics.
All In The Wrist
It’s like this; the traditional, straight ice cream scoop actually works against you. Instead of using the radial motion of your wrist, which gives you more scooping power, it forces you, especially in containers that are almost empty, to contort and twist to get at the sweet stuff. The Belle-V, on the other hand, has an angled, elongated scoop, not unlike a spade. So, instead of having to stab the spoon into the top of a rock-hard container, you can dig in and use the power of your wrist to more easily drive through. And it’s made of solid aluminum, both to conduct the heat of your hand and to ensure that it lasts; it’s one solid piece of metal, all the way through.
Ready for a better ice-cream scooping experience? Currently, you can only get this through Kickstarter; the good news is that it’s dirt, dirt cheap compared to a lot of kitchen gadgets, and you can get it in multiple colors. It starts at just $39, and you can get it for Christmas if you shell out an extra $10. Or you can be really fancy and get the gold-plated one, but you’d better be using that for amazing ice cream.
