Coffee table books are often drab accounts of interior design, or glorified shots of over priced cars that you’ll never afford. So next time you’re looking to fill up the space on the table that plays center to your living room, I suggest you check out Beautiful LEGO.
This paperback books contains a collection of 360 LEGO models that are said to be anything but “child’s play”. 77 artists are represented amongst the collection, each with their own unique spin on how to best use LEGOs to build what many consider to be works of art.
Some of the included works are portraits of Freddie Mercury and the monsters from Alien to dissected frogs, space stations, and chromed-out hot rods. The books author, Doyle, also includes some of his builds, such as a black-and-white renderings of an elegant Victorian house damaged by an uprooted tree. Yes, that was built using LEGO.
You can pick up Beautiful Lego from Amazon for $18.
