If you haven’t already heard, Apple today confirmed that they’ll in fact host an event on September 10th. They haven’t said if it will be iPhone centric, but seeing as the last iPhone, the iPhone 5, was released just about a year ago, all logic points to a handset specific unveiling. Moreover, a rumor emerged last month that the next Apple event will be on September 10th, so in my book this all but confirms that we’ll see what is likely the iPhone 5s and the iPhone 5c.
The iPhone 5s is said to be an iterative change – hence the name – and although no specs have been revealed it’s probably safe to assume that will see an updated camera, perhaps a faster processor, and some other tweaks. The invite, which reads “this should brighten everyone’s day” and is accompanied by colored bubbles, also seems to indicate that will see a variety of new colorways for the next-gen Apple iPhone, though a gold iPhone still seems like a bit of a stretch.
