We’re a far cry from virtual reality, though GTA 5 is perhaps a precursor of what’s to come. But that game is more virtual insanity than reality. This demo (video above), which combines highly detailed 3D photography and the Oculus Goggles, is perhaps the first of many steps that will get us to a Holodeck like experience.

The photos, if you can call them that, were created by Infinite Realities. Using a large number of cameras, as you’ll see in the video, the team scanned 8 partially nude people. Then Youtube user LipowitzFilms combined the Oculus Rift and the Razer Hydra control to make a very compelling and interactive environment that is both surreal and questionable it’s so compelling.
As you’ll see in the video, he is able to walk not only around the models and instantly change the background, but he can get so closer to the models he can even examine them down to the freckle. Creepy? Yup. But also very cool.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
