Over the years I’ve seen Monopoly, the classic and possibly most popular board game of all time, come in all “shapes and sizes”. Perhaps the most interesting is the version that digitally rolls the dice for you. Though I’m sure those of the comic book generation might argue and point to the LOTR or Marvel editions.
But honestly, none of those have anything on this 3D Monopoly New York Edition by Charles Fazzino. First off, it costs a whopping $500. So price alone sets this edition of the game significantly apart from anyone prior to its existence. And while that may serve as a deterrent, consider that there is no other Monopoly like this one.
In addition to being an oversized version – by how much, I don’t know – there is 3D artwork that is further highlighted by over 170 crystals and foil accents. Sounds a bit gaudy for my taste, but perhaps in person, and when paired with the 2-inch deep wood cabinet and glass top, it all comes together to form the most opulent of board games. There is also a specially designed money and title deed, chance, and community chest cards. As well as special Fazzino-designed wood houses, hotels and banker’s tray.
The set, which is limited to a production run of just 2000, is hand signed by the artist himself. If you want one you can preorder it today with shipping set for November.
