Craftsman’s tools with a built-in LED light are a brilliant idea. They illuminate whatever you’re trying to fix by shining light directly on the screw or wire. But if you’ve already got a sizable investment in a set of tools, you’ll likely be reluctant to reinvest and end up with a duplicate. Moreover, Craftsman’s selection is rather limited, that is assuming they’re still available.
As far as I’m concerned these Universal Add-On LED Tool Lights are the better solution. They attach to any tool (and more) using a magnet, or the included silicon and flex bands that can wrap around the tools neck or head. Also included is a clip for attaching it to a shirt.
Arguably the LED light’s body could get in the way, but it’s easy enough to detach the light or position it elsewhere if the case is such.
There are two types to choose from (Magnetic or Flex – you can also get both for $13). Each one comes with two lithium watch like batteries and because the light bulb is LED, they should last for a long time to come.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
