Samsung Series 9 SB971

Is there really a market for $1000+ monitors that are not 4K. Apparently so. We reviewed one such marvel just a few months back. While it was all that it purported to be–99% Adobe RGB, pitch perfect color accuracy 1440p native display resolutions and such–it high priced high-priced nibble that was too rich for out blood and our wallets. But we’re not the target market. Professional photographers, game developers and film makers are who these new line of premium windows are targeting.

The Samsung Series 9 SB971 monitor boasts 1% more. It is capable of 100% of the SRGB visibility and also supports 2560 x 1440 native resolution. Uniquely, at the base you have I/O ports and a USB hub. Connect via DisplayPort, Dual Link-DVI and HDMI. It sports built-in 7w stereo speakers and Mobile High Definition Link (MHL) for compatible smartphones and tablets.

The Series 9 monitor is also individually hand-tuned by the company. Yet it also features a baked-in calibration engine. Hardware calibration is on tap as well with Samsung’s exclusive Natural Color Expert technology. This is hardware calibration within the monitor. No need to buy a separate piece of tech like we saw with the LG 27EA83-D 27 inch ColorPrime.
