Many of you may have seen the news. During their Thursday earnings call, a member of Nvidia’s investor relations team was quoted stating games for which Nvidia enthusiasts and PC Gamers alike were highly anticipating. Grand Theft Auto V–a game assumed but not confirmed for PC–was mentioned. As stated, the media and anxious PC Gamers all dove on this as if it were the game-winning fumble.

I’m a PC Gamer through and through and yet we could see the writing on that wall. Maybe Nvidia knows something. Maybe they don’t. Regardless a full and official recant has been issued stating,

“Please note, during our Thursday’s earnings call, our investor relations team provided a list of important games that gamers are looking forward to on PC this fall, and included Grand Theft Auto V on that list.

This statement was made with the intent of expressing enthusiasm for the games industry in general, and was not intended to represent specific knowledge possessed by NVIDIA. NVIDIA does not have information on any possible PC version release of Grand Theft Auto or its availability. We deeply regret the error.”

All is not lost for PC hopefuls such as myself. Tomorrow brings new info, screenshots and hopefully gameplay for GTA Online. Plus Rockstar has kicked out these faux-mercials featuring campaign promos for in-game politicians Jack Cranley and Sue Murray.
