No. This is not the actual gold iPhone 5s, but a mockup created by iMore.
I first told you about the gold iPhone 5s last Friday. Now, according to a source who spoke with AllThingsD, the gold iPhone will include a white face, gold back plate and a beveled edge. Moreover, the gold is said to be more of a champagne color as opposed to a bright or brilliant yellow.
To date, images of the “gold iPhone’s” backing or casing have been leaked – we have yet to see a fully assembled handset. Also, Apple has yet to officially announce a launch date or event, which they’ve traditional done a few weeks in advance. Rumors emerged last week speculating that the next iPhone – the iPhone 5s or 5c – will be announced on September 10th.
In addition to 128GB of storage and a new A7 chip, the next iPhone – not the cheaper one – is said to include a fingerprint reader. The feature, in my opinion, won’t make it to the final product, that is assuming it even exists in prototype. A fingerprint reader is hardly a necessity, doesn’t add all that much security, and isn’t a feature that will convert Android users or those that don’t currently own a smartphone.
