The Kickstarter campaign for the blink(1) USB provided users a glanceable notice of anything on your computer and now it’s new version, the blink(1) mk2, improves on it. The original made it easy for users to connect any data source in the cloud or on your computer to a full-color RGB LED USB so you can know what’s happening without the need to check any windows, going to any websites or typing any commands. Now the blink(1) mk2 adds better functionality and new features while maintaining backward-compatibility.
The new version improves on the original in three main ways: better USB support, brighter and dual RGB LEDs and individually-controllable LEDs. The blink(1) mk2 uses a more powerful microcontroller that works on more USB systems. This includes compatibility with the latest USB 3.0 systems. The second RGB LED not only makes it twice as bright but it also means for a more symmetric design with light coming out of both sides to see your notifications. If you pledge $30 or more you get one blink(1) mk2 that includes a 6-ft USB extender cable to put it where you want it.
