TaskOne iPhone Case

My Boyscout experience was a formidable one.  I never took well to camping outside, especially when the sky was weeping snow or rain to the earth below and ultimately on my head.  However, I did find solace in the wide variety of camping gadgets at my disposal.  And while tents, sleeping bags, and cookware held a place in my heart, nothing was more elating than the always useful, yet somewhat flawed, Swiss Army Knife.

TaskOne’s iPhone 5 (and iPhone 4) case is clearly an ode to such a knife, which mind you has been imitated many times over.  It comes in a variety of colors (red, gray, black, or orange) and includes 22 tools that are crafted from stainless steel.  This includes the following:

  • 2.5″ removable knife with serrated edge
  • Three screw drivers
  • Bottle opener
  • A kickstand (also doubles as a flat head)
  • Metric ruler
  • Wire cutters
  • Pliers and Box Wrenches
  • 6 allen wrenches
  • Wire strippers

Moreover, the case itself, which is made from aircraft aluminum and polycarbonate, weighs less than 100g and adds just 5mm thickness.  You’ll need to put the case together, as it comes with 4 screws (2 spairs), and you’ll also need to be willing to swallow what is a rather steep price tag of $100.  Though, there are many cases that are far less functional, and cost well north of $50.
