Grand Theft Auto V had long been a rumored game. And finally that game will arrive this September (17th) on both the PS3 and Xbox 360. However, owners of a lower tier Xbox 360 are in for a slight surprise.
Grand Theft Auto 5 will ship on two discs due to the game’s size. One of the two discs, which contains 8GB of data, is a required install to play the game. While the other disc must be in the system tray during gameplay.
This means that 4GB Xbox 360 owners will need a hardware upgrade. But fear not, for it’s not a significant cost. Rockstar recommends a currently generation USB 2.o flash drive with a 15mbps read speed and 16GB of storage. A nominal cost for most. Nevertheless, an annoyance if you don’t already have one in your possession.
PS3 owners will be subject to the same install requirement. However, since it will be loaded onto a Blu-ray disc, which can hold vastly more content, it will only be ship on a single disc and must be in the “tray” while the game is being played.
Unfortunately, there is no word on a next-gen or PC version of the GTA 5. And to date Rockstar hasn’t released any actual gameplay footage, though the company says it will be arrive sometime this September, when the game releases mid month.
