Stars Wars was filmed well over 30 years ago. And while the movie is far from forgotten, unfortunately the same cannot be said for the movie’s sets.
Case in point is the sets built to depict Luke Skywalker’s childhood home on the fictional desert planet Tatooine. Captured by Photographer Rä di Martino, who spent months traveling Chott el Djerid in Tunisia where the sets were erected and now sit dilapidated, they were not easy feat to find. But thanks to a combination of Google Maps and leveraging the knowledge of local drivers, she was eventually able to track them down and capture the Lucas inspired structures before they completely disintegrated.
