  1. My needs are simple I want to bring my own unlocked GSM 4G LTE smartphone to my choice of GSM carrier in the US. I am not willing to pay for a subsidized phone or have it rolled into my bill and I sure am not willing to subsidize other people’s phones. I just want to pay for voice/text/data monthly with no contracts like you can in most other parts of the world. Does AT&T even offer this.

  2. Let me clarify a few things. The only amount due at sign up is the sales tax on the device you are putting under a Next agreement. You do not need to make the first month’s payment up front. So for instance, if you get a 16 GB IPad 4 on a Next agreement, you just pay the sales tax on the retail cost of the device.

r8cing: the upgrade eligibility change from 20 months to 24 months only effected customers whose contract ended in March 2014 or later. Remember, when you upgraded your device, you signed a two-year service agreement. Nowhere in that agreement did it say “you will be eligible to upgrade after 20 months.

    • WHEN YOU HAVE BEEN GIVING A 20 MONTH UPGRADE TIME FRAME AND YOU CHANGE IT WITHOUT NOTIFING YOU CUSTOMER IT IS LIKE GOING TO THE GAS STATION AND YOU START PUMPING AT ONE PRICE AND BEFORE YOU ARE FINISHED THEY CHANGE THE PRICE.

Thank god I live in the UK. The USA is the home of Capitalism which says the bigger the market the cheaper the product someone should tell your telco’s as they are taking you for idiots.

  4. DUE TO THE FACT AT&T CHANGED THE ELIGABLE TIME TO UPGRADE FROM 20 MONTHS TO 24 MONTHS NOT LONG AGO WITHOUT NOTIFING THEIR CUSTOMERS. THIS PUTS NUMBEROUS CUSTOMERS BEHIND THE 8 BALL SINCE THEY CANNOT JOIN THE NEXT PLAN TILL THEIR CONTRACT IS UP. I TRIED TO GET THEM TO ALLOW ME TO GO TO THE NEXT PLAN BUT WAS TOLD I HAD TO WAIT THE 24 MONTHS.
