Razer 14-inch Blade_nn

I guess it’s a real thing! Razer is officially a computer company, joining the likes of HP, Asus, Dell, MSI and others. Many of us thought the original Blade was a one-off–a stab in a new direction sure, but more for R&D purposes than full committal on a mass production level. I stand corrected. The company has just announced two new BLADE laptop computers at 14- and 17-inches variant and they’re up for pre-order today.

The new 14 inch Razer Blade is quite possibly the world’s thinnest 14-inch gaming laptop. It measures at a mere 0.66 inches thin. It features a 14 inch LED backlight display pushing 1600 x 900, brand new Nvidia GTX 765M mobile GPU with 2Gb of GDDR5 ram. The CPU is a brand new Intel Haswel i7-4702HQ quad-core processor clocked at 2.2GHz with an easy Turbo mode for 3.2GHz. So there is an integrated video option with Intel’s new HD4600. There’s a sizable 8GB of onboard memory, Windows 8, 128GB SSD with option 256/512GB SSD in an mSATA format. Other notable specs include HDMI 1.4a output, Dolby Home Theater v4 audio and 7.1 codec support over the HDMI out and a Qualcomm Killer NiC N1202 network adapter + Bluetooth 4.0.
