Should this poster from Media Markt, a European retailer be trusted? If you’re a PS4 proponent than you might be saying yes, even though it’s probably largely wishful thinking.
Up until right now – as in this very second – Sony has remained tight lipped (like Microsoft) about the release date for the PS4. Amazon’s product page for the PS4 console lists it with a December 31st release date – we all know that’s merely a placeholder, much like Xbox One Amazon page. That being said, this poster from the Media Markt indicates that the next-gen console from Sony will ship on November 13th.
According to Ubergizmo Sony has said that the poster is merely speculation on the behalf of Media Markt. However, I’d be surprised that a retailer would risk creating something that Sony is effectively calling “false”. It would surely compromise their relationship and negate an excellent revenue opportunity since next-gen consoles will surely be at the top of many people’s list this holiday season.
That all said, this poster is from a EU retailer. So if it is true, then this is the launch date for the PS3 in, well, Europe. Nevertheless, the US PS4 launch date is likely to happen days before, if not on the same day.
