Everybody HATES being stuck in traffic! But now that Google has acquired the Waze app for its Google Maps, you can see real-time traffic updates from friends and other cars ahead of you so that you can take a faster route to wherever you’re going. Both apps will outsmart traffic so that users can have an easier commute everyday. Waze is the world’s fastest-growing community-based traffic and navigation app that joins together other drivers in your area as they share real-tim traffic and road info, so that you can have an easier daily commute without the frustrations of traffic.
According to a post on Google’s Official Blog, the Waze product development team will still be operating in Israel and operate separately from Google. Google Maps will benefit from Waze’s traffic update features, while Google enhances Waze with Google search capabilities, creating a synergy that benefits all who use both apps. Google said that they’ll be working close with the Waze community to make sure that that app as everything it needs to “grow and prosper.” Waze, on the other hand, has welcomed google and looks forward to creating a more robust app. No exact timeline of changes has been released, but look for enhancements in the near future.
