If you’re getting sick of repetitively pummeling Samus and Pikachu, Nintendo has some good news. During an E3 livestream yesterday, the company announced a roster expansion for their long-awaited follow-up to 2008’s Super Smash Bros. Brawl. The game, which unfortunately doesn’t yet have a release date, is slated to premier on both current-gen Nintendo consoles: the Wii U and 3DS. The roster is said to be the same for both versions of the game, though the stage selection will not be. For those looking for a new set of combos, here’s everything we know about the new fighters:
Third party evangelists, rejoice. Everyone’s favorite litte NES-era robot is coming to the big screen, and he’s bringing his handy Mega Buster with him. He’ll be joining the likes of Sonic The Hedgehog and Solid Snake, the only two non-Nintendo characters to be featured in the franchise. According to the trailer, Mega Man will come fully loaded with a slew of Robot Master abilities, which no doubt will prove useful on the battlefield. You can check out the reveal trailer below:
The peaceful residents of Animal Crossing are in for a chaotic surprise. Villager, a generic human based on the standard character design from the series, is ready to fight. While players of the original series should be used to catching fish and collecting furniture, it’s looking like Villager’s moveset might be a little more violent. If you’re worried the little guy won’t be able to compete with heavy-weights like Bowser and Ganondorf, here’s the thing: he’s bringing his axe and shovel.
Here’s hoping Mr. Resetti makes it on the roster as well.
Wii Fit Trainer
In a turn of events that no one could have predicted, the yoga-loving heroine of Wii Fit is coming to brawl. In need of a good workout? Wii Fit Trainer is here to get the whole roster in shape for beach season. I’ve included the reveal trailer, but make sure to watch closely for the trainer’s final smash – a rainbow assault of relaxing yoga poses.
In addition to the three listed above, Nintendo has confirmed that Mario, Link, Donkey Kong, Pikachu, Bowser, Kirby, Samus, Fox, Pit, and Princess Peach will be returning as veteran fighters. Who else do you think will make the cut?
