The way we consume movies, TV shows, and even music has drastically changed thanks to the proliferation of the smartphone. It’s a one stop device that is not only our media hub, but serves as the center of our communication. And while Google Glass has yet to make the same impact – a paradigm shift if you will – and may never do so thanks to the tech’s rather nascent (and expensive) positioning, it most certainly gives pause in terms of our privacy and how our humanly interactions might be impacted. And none are so lurid, and obvious, than the sexual implications that comes with this type of tech.
1. Watch Porn
Funny enough an app emerged today (Tits and Glass) that is being billed as the device’s first porn app. I don’t own a Google Glass, and while I could easily navigate to the site (I did for a second), my location isn’t appropriate for full on XXX T&A. Nevertheless, the person sitting next to you on the train or bus could be watching a full on porn movie with Google Glass, and you’d be none the wiser. It’s a creepy thought, but it’s bound to happen, as evidenced by our smartphones.
2. Record Live Sex
There have been a few parody videos on YouTube that have alluded, if not explicitly depicted this situation. Recording yourself and your partner has been a practice that has only become more commonplace thanks to cheap devices (both smartphone and point and shoot cameras) that capture HD or full HD video. Since Google Glass captures HD (720p) video, and one only needs to speak the command to record video, shooting POV sex videos has never been easier.
3. Professional POV Porn with Ease, and Live Blogging
Much like the aforementioned section, professional porn actors and actresses could start wearing Google Glass and add another element of interactivity to the porn shoot. Once they become cheap enough not only will they be able to add another angle to the action, they’ll be able to live blog, upload videos on the fly, and offer their fans an almost hands on experience. At the end of the day a premium could be charged for such an interactive feature.
4. Sex Training on the Fly When Engaged in a Sex Act
The Kama Sūtra is a tried and tested (for some) book. However, no one in their right mind is going to reference the manual in the middle of coitus. So what better than Google Glass to look up sex positions on the fly, complete with video instructions. That being said, wearing Google Glass in the bedroom is probably a bigger faux pas then looking up moves in the old book, but I wouldn’t put it beyond people to try something that involves technology, first.
5. Look up Diseases if Suspect
With a camera comes visual recognition. One can upload a pic to Google Image search and find associated images and their associated text. So in theory Google Glass could spot a sexual disease’s associated symptoms on the fly and curtail a visit to the doctor’s office (provided you’re not the one with the disease). Worse case scenario you could just speak a description of what you’re seeing, which might be enough to perform a quick diagnosis.
6. Find A Sexual Partner
There are already a myriad of apps available for those that are looking for a sexual partner. Google Glass could take it to the next level by identifying a partner with your tastes and requirements in mind using the camera, proximity sensors, and whatever else it can leverage to narrow the field. Or on a very basic level, it could allow you to look up someone’s profile as you awkwardly gaze at that from across the room or while you’re already engaging in a conversation.
Sexting has become as commonplace as making a telephone call. But I’m not just talking about plain old sexting. I’m talking about the exchange of pics, which thanks to Google Glass’ cameras makes the activity ultra fast and efficient. And best of all, you could receive them in public without anyone knowing what you’re looking at.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
