Sometimes the simplest things in life are the best things.  A bit of a trite saying, but one that surely applies to many of the pictures and videos that exist on the web today.  Case in point is this video which depicts 100 black balloons destroyed by a blu-ray laser.

As you’d expect, the balloons pop.  But what makes it remarkable is the succession and speed at which they explode.  It also doesn’t hurt that YouTube user WorldScott filmed the action from multiple angles, as well as played it back in reverse.  I’m no laser expert, but I believe that black balloons are more sensitive to laser light as they tend to absorb more energy than a white balloon which would conversely reflect it (to some degree).
