I’ve seen a wide variety of crazy wingsuit flights. And aside from the fact that they’re all sponsored by Redbull, they’re all completely nuts, at least compared to my boring life. That said, the flightsuit video that depicts a crazy dude flying through a hole in a mountain in Brazil easily makes the top of the list.
Earlier this month Valery Rozov, a Russian daredevil, jumped from the north face of Mt. Everest, setting was is a world record for a base jump at 7,220 meters above sea level, or 23,687 feet. At that altitude he was able to achieve a top speed of 125mph during is descent.
This particular jump took place on May 5th to commemorate the 60th anniversary of the first ascent of the world’s most famous mountain. Rozov, who has completed over 10,000 base jumps, planned this feat for two years. It took him 4-days to climb the mountain and as part of “warm up” he jumped from Shivling in the Himalayas last year, which boasts a height of 6,420 meters.
