Technology these days has made us into a very vain society as we Instagram pictures of ourselves, Tweet our daily happenings and Facebook our lives. Disney has caught on to this self absorbed culture we all live in by allowing Star Wars fans to create Stormtrooper figures of themselves. Yup, Disney will let you put your face on an actual Stormtrooper figure that will look like you.
Disney is offering these personalized figures as part of their Hollywood Studios “D-Tech Me” experience for their Star Wars’ Weekends. To complete the customization process, fans have to sit through a 10-minute 3D scan of their faces, which is shot using the “world’s highest-resolution, single-shot 3D face scanner” that’s created by Imagineering scientists who work with Disney Research Labs. Then, fans need to wait for another 7-8 weeks (or longer if it’s shipped out of the country) to receive their very own mini Stormtrooper figure.
And like most Disney-realted products, this one won’t come cheap, setting you back $99.95 each figurine. But that’s not all, since Disney will also offer Star Wars fans the option of creating their own personalized Han Solo in carbon figurine, too!
