The rejuvenation space is supposed to help you wake up and get back to work after taking a 20-minute nap. Apparently, there are some studies by NASA that prove that you can improve your concentration by 34% if you take power naps. The Nap Pod is supposed to provide you with a comfortable space to do just that.
It’s a contoured, cushioned bed that provides users with optimal ergonomics for napping by elevating the feet, relaxing the lower back, and slightly bending the knees, all of which promote blood circulation. To provide semi-privacy while you nap, there’s a spherical dome enclosure, while a privacy visor provides additional seclusion. There’s also a built-in timer is set to a pre-programmed 20-minute nap that’s controlled via the armrest, but it can be set to any preferred nap time. And if you need some peaceful sounds to help you nod off for the power nap, it comes with built-in 200-watt Bose speaker (or headphones jack) to eliminate surrounding distractions. To wake you up, there’s slowly brightening light and vibration that’s supposed to decrease grogginess.
For those who want a more sophisticated place to take a nap than their car, the Nap Pod from Hammacher Schlemmer will set you back a whopping $16,000.
