Apple users will be glad to know that VW has finally fulfilled its promise of creating one of the world’s “first cars in the world to have a genuine integrative interface for the iPhone that was coordinated with Apple,” with their new iBeetle that’s set to debut at the Shanghai Motor Show. While this may sound pretty grand, the reality is that what’s featured in the iBeetle isn’t more than a special app that allows users to view a couple of car functions with a dash-mounted dock, which all looks like a factory install of lots of other aftermarket docks that are already available. Volkswagen has created an entire model from this less-than-impressive feature that also includes a set of special “Disc” wheels with iPhone-matching color schemes. If you’re still impressed by the fancy dock and intend to buy this special model Beetle, you’ll be able to in 2014 when it hits US dealers.
