Lightpack

The Lightpack is an open-source content-driven lighting system that’s compatible with TV or PC, Mac, HTPC displays and allows you to watch TV, get your gaming on and more at night without hurting your eyes. Watching TV in the darkness is harmful to your eyes and the Lightpack eliminates this risk by lightening your computer or TV screen to strengthen the presence effect. The device easily mounts on your TV or computer display and its software analyzes what you’re watching or have on the screen. The Lightpack then lightens the surface behind the screen with matching colors using the RGB-LEDs that are built into the device. It can also level the intensity of light in the room by reducing the different in lighting between dark and bright scenes or by getting rid of it completely.┬áThe Kickstarter campaign is currently asking for pledges to fund the project with users getting a Lightpack if they give $80 or more and you get two if you pledge $120 or more.
