There are few companies such as Samsung that have had such an impact on smartphones.  A once iPhone dominated landscape, has now been balanced out thanks to the Samsung Galaxy S3.  By many accounts it’s the best smartphone on the market, even defeating Apple’s long coveted handset in many tests.  And now things are about to get even better with the release of the Samsung Galaxy S4, which is due to hit store shelves this month.

The previous Galaxy phone from Samsung included a 4.8-inch screen.  Samsung has increased that to a stunning 5-inches.  But that’s not all.  The screen is of the AMOLED type for efficient operation, and can produce a full HD (1080) picture thanks to its pixel heavy screen.   Moreover, Samsung has added a 13mp camera, that might best every smartphone on the market – it also doesn’t hurt that they’re including some proprietary software to remove unwanted photobombers from the picture.  But that’s hardly scratching the surface (pun intended…read on).

With Air View you can swipe through screens without touching the phone.  Brilliant if you’ve got wet hands, or they’re all mucked up from playing in the dirt.  Lending a further assist is a special camera that watches your eyes and automatically scrolls through pages when you reach the bottom, or pauses the movie when you look away.  It really doesn’t get smarter than this.

And when you’re not watching a movie, you can exercise with the Galaxy S4.  It includes a pedometer and wrist band to track your vital stats, which is recorded in an accompanying app that can track food and sleep.  Or, perhaps you’re not feeling the treadmill today.  Just fire up the TV app and use the embedded IR blaster to flip through channels – no more remote control to lose or batteries to replace.

So suffice to say, the Galaxy S4 is a true all in one device.  You can stay healthy, relax when you need to, and communicate with family and friends in any fashion no matter what shore they reside on.   The Galaxy S4 will be available for purchase April 16th in the US for $200 on the AT&T network.
