Before you toss out those old speakers simply because you can’t dock your iPhone into it, you might wanna take a long hard gander at The Vamp.

It’s a tiny red box that contains a 4 watt amplifier, two outputs, a USB port, and a Bluetooth wireless module.  Add The Vamp to any speaker, powered or not, and you can instantly stream tunes to it.  A battery that is said to last up to 10 hours provides juice without the worry of plugging into a wall socket, while a Bluetooth module lets you wirelessly beam tunes from any compatible device, such as a smartphone or tablet.  Since The Vamp has its very own built-in amplifier, it can power almost any speaker by either using a traditional speaker cord connection (positive and negative inputs) or via a headphone to headphone jack.

Included in the box is a tiny metal disc that adheres to the side of the speaker and allows you to attach The Vamp anywhere you see fit thanks to a magnetic base.  As a result The Vamp looks like it’s part of the speaker, though you might want to take heed when removing the disc, since it could very well leave that gummy residue that is never as easy as just peeling it off.

The Vamp just launched on and they’ve already exceeded 50% of their funding goal, so it’s more than likely that it will go into production.  If you want one of your own expect to drop about $50.
