For decades, digital clocks have displayed the time with the hour first, followed by the minutes. But what if you switched them around?

That’s one option with the whimsical Numbers LED Clock by Jonas Damon. This cool new clock features three black LED cubes (each displaying a red digit) that can be arranged horizontally or stacked vertically to display the time any way you desire. Each cube measures 2″h x 1.5″w x 1.5″d.

The clock , which will run you $130, also features an alarm and snooze function and comes with an A/C adapter. During power failures only, the clock can be powered by three backup AAA batteries (not included). It’s also compatible with 120V.

Damon has gained notoriety for his fun and nostalgic vintage-inspired designs, including minimalist analog clocks, 6-inch wooden tool sets, retro office furniture and wooden iPod & iPhone docks that look like old-fashioned analog electronics.  He’s even created an iPad charging dock that looks like a retro wooden TV from the 1970s or 1980s.

“This lo-fidelity design language is very appealing in contrast to the gloss-black slick design trends that are currently the norm,” he said of the design.

The Numbers LED Clock seems to demonstrate a shift away from these lo-fi pieces to a more sleek, modern aesthetic. I’m excited to see what’s next!
