Comic book nerds, you’re gonna need to change your pants.  Course, you’ll first need an iOS device, but if you’ve got yourself an iPad or an iPhone, you can now start reading over 13,000 Marvel comic books for just $10 a month, or $120 a year (act now and it’s just $60 a year, or $5 a month).

It’s Marvel’s newest app, Marvel Unlimited, and it allows comic book fans to read an unlimited amount of comics for an all you can eat monthly subscription. This includes over 70 years of Marvel comic books, old to new.  However, if you’re pining for the latest installment this may not be the ideal app or expense, since new issues could be delayed by up to 6 months.

Needless to say, it’s a pretty sweet deal, especially if you have a penchant for Marvel comics.  There isn’t a true free trial option, but Marvel is offering a free issue.  According to CNET, who recently reviewed the app, it does have some draw backs that will leave a few comic book fans pining for more.  This includes a poor zoom function, an almost unusable UI on the iPhone, and a lack of dog earing (remembering where you last left off).  And while you can download comics for offline reading, you’re limited to just 6 downloads at a time.

Nevertheless, Marvel Unlimited is a damn good deal for the die-hard comic book fan.  You’ll easily spend $60 on a handful of other, less worthy things, such as a steak dinner.  And then what? You’ll need another steak dinner the next week, which will cost you another $60.

Marvel Unlimited should be coming to the Android platform sometime soon.
