Our “always on” and “we need it now” society is only getting worse as processor and Internet speeds increase. What was acceptable a few years ago is now considered akin to dial-up. In other words, YouTube videos should load without hesitation and in HD. Anything less and I want to pull my hair out.
The LINKASE for the iPhone 5 is designed to increase your handset’s WiFi signal, especially when you’re not sitting a few feet from the router. The company’s included product video (seen below) seems to support this concept, though despite that I’m still a bit skeptical.
Nevertheless, the LINKASE is super easy to operate. You simply slide up the antenna (embedded with an electromagnetic waveguide) found on the rear of the case, which effectively extends the internal one, and presto, your iPhone 5’s WiFi signal should see a noticeable improvement – up to 50% according to Absolute Technologies, the company behind the case.
There is no word on when the LINKASE will go on sale or for how much. But since they’re offering us a review unit, I’m only assuming that it should hit stores any day now. And when they do go on sale you’ll be able to purchase one in blue, red, gray, white, or black. And not for nothing, the LINKASE will add a layer of protection to your precious iPhone 5.
