The countdown to the next Star Trek movie, “Into Darkness”, has officially begun. How, I don’t know. But hey, it just sounds good and insinuates that the movie is closer than ever to hitting theaters. Which mind you happens May 17th, just in case you were wondering.
So word is that this particular trailer will never officially launch online (despite it being posted here) as it is intended to be specifically attached to the new Oz movie, which I’ve heard is “entertaining”. That all being said, “Into Darkness” seems to employ all of the elements – satire, action, special effects - from the first films that made it a massive success. Well, it also doesn’t hurt that there is a built-in fan base that has been cultivated over the last, what, 47 years?
Plot wise, it’s pretty evident that Jim T. Kirk returns to the big screen this Spring to track and chase down a would be terrorist of the future. Many of the cast members from the first film are present, which includes Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Simon Pegg, and Zoe Saldana. J.J. Abrams once again directs.
