My hunt for the best telecom services and bundles is never-ending. Previously, I lived under the tyranny of Comcast for more years than I dare admit out loud. Yet in my area, if you wanted the fastest download speeds, Comcast was your best bet. Oh but I despised their billing structure. Why do you bill in a month in advance for service yet to come? No company is infallible. Entropy looms around and every corner, where “Shit happens!” and outages are a very real concern. I’m happy to pay at the end my service cycle, like any other transaction.
I hope things have changed for Comcast customers. Despite billing practices, one thing is certain. You can often milk your telecom provider for more features and service if you dig a bit deeper and inquire about their deals, limited specials and bundle deals. Consumer Reports has piece where they rated 14 companies that provide internet, phone, TV and other services. Their findings…? “…most people have at least one decent choice in telecom. “
The moral of the story: Ask your service representatives how you may bundle and tack on additional services you use or want. Adding a Cable TV package for the limited time allotted could bring down rates. Consumer Reports point out, Verizon and AT&T offer “quad plays” of TV, internet, phone and cell phone service. It could be warm-welcomed respite from the incessant trend of telecom price spikes.
