Audi’s dropping the new A3 Sportback later this year, but it’s not heading to the States since there’s not a big demand for it and there’s no word that we’ll be getting the S3 Sportback, so Audi decided instead to provide us with an S3 sedan. They’ll debut it at the New York Auto Show and it is set to be released sometime next year. According to Audi, it’ll probably be priced at about $39,000.

US S3 sedans come standard with a sunroof, 18-inch wheels, full leather, Sirius satellite radio, the three-spoke sport steering wheel with shift paddles for the also-standard six-speed S-tronic, and fully automated adjustable sport seats. It’ll be powered by a 2.0-liter TFSI engine that should go from rest to 60 mph in 4.7 seconds. The interior features a reorganized MMI control area, a cleaner dash, large cup holders now in front of the transmission’s console lever, with optional design  S-line performance seats that carry over the stitching from the optional S8 seats.
