Monopoly has a new game piece after getting rid of its iron token! It seems the Scottie dog piece has a new rival in the highly popular game with its new cat token. Fans voted in an online contest to add the new token to the Hasbro Inc. game, with the results announced after the shoe, wheelbarrow and iron were all neck-to-neck for elimination. This was the first time fans had an opportunity to have some say so on which of the eight tokens to add and get rid of. After all, a lot has changed since Parker Brothers bought the game from its original designer in 1935. Other pieces that were options included a robot, diamond ring, guitar and helicopter. The other tokens are a racecar, Scottie dog, a shoe, thimble, top hat, wheelbarrow and battleship, with most of them introduced in the first iteration of the game (the dog and wheelbarrow were added in the early 1950s).
