The saying is “to the victor goes the spoils”. In this case it’s “to the victor goes…the beer”.
The Beercade (yes, that’s Arcade and Beer combined into one word) isn’t just another arcade machine that serves suds alongside any old video game. The Beercade combines a Kegerator with the company’s very own beer fighting game. To garnish a fresh glass of fermented hops and barley, you’ll need to battle it out with your opponent. Win and the Beercade will automatically pour you a fresh 16oz cup of whatever keg sits in its belly.
Graphically the game, “The Last Barfighter”, has a cartoony like feel, as seen in “Borderlands”. Based on the video trailer it doesn’t seem to be packed with an ultra fast frame rate, or graphics that are bleeding edge, but honestly, does that matter when your victory nets you a cold one?
Players can choose one of five fighters, which they’ll use to engage in a three round match. Fighting moves range from the basics (punching and kicking) to signature moves such as fire throwing, unicorn horn impaling and butt slaps. The best of three rounds wins themselves an automatically dispensed beer.
The Beercade was created by advertising agency McKinney for Big Boss Brewing company. If you want to play the Beercade, head to their store on February 27th located at 1249-A Wicker Dr., Raleigh, NC 27604. The battle commences at 5pm and ends at 9pm.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
