Of all the announcements coming out of Blackberry, (again, no longer RIM), the one that seems to be getting the most flack and stirring the most buzz is not the iPhone-battling Blackberry Z10. It’s also not their elevation of Alicia Keys from the heart throb of some employee, to full-on Spokesperson and Global Creative Director for the company. In a wonderful bit of tech drama–but sadly not the buzz of which we speak–the new spokeswoman has been tweeting from an iPhone today. Oops! But I digress…

It’s Blackberry Q10 that’s causing all the commotion. This is Blackberry’s 2nd official Smartphone announcement today. Arguably the Q10 carries the heart of the company on it slee…er, QWERTY keyboard with familiar functionality and a highly revamped design. The Blackberry Q10 is powered by a 1.5GHz processor with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of baked-in storage space. Like the Z10, Blackberry Q10 also features MicroSD slot, 8-megapixel camera on the back and 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has the ubiquitous QWERTY board but also struts with a 3.1-inch super AMOLED touchscreen capable of 330 pixels per inch for a 720 x 720 display resolution.

I see you iPhone cool kids sneering in the background. Blackberry Q10 isn’t for you guys. This is for the business class and all those in between who still cling tenaciously to the hope that QWERTY would rise anew. Well your prayers are answered and it’s Blackberry Q10.

Pricing, availability and carriers are all big mysteries right now. More on this one as it develops.
