Listen up Time Warner Cable subscribers. Today, the company’s much maligned iPad app received an update today and now enables streaming On Demand content directly on the iOS device.
According to TWC’s blog that’s 4,000 TV Shows and Movies, though watchable, as in tolerable content, is debatable. As time ticks on TWC promises to add more HD content, but for now you’ll have to settle for a mix of HD and SD. That being said, you will be able to fast forward (for certain shows and movies), rewind and pause content as you see fit. A Live Interactive guide is also available, as is a “recently viewed channel” option. And there is the always necessary parental controls, as well as a search function. Time Warner has also said there are a myriad of bug and performance fixes to this iteration of the app.
Just remember, you’ll need a Time Warner cable and Internet subscription to get access to the content. But for anyone who isn’t willing to plunk down extra scratch for another box, like me, then you’ll surely be pleased as punch with this update. Android users on the other hand will have to wait a bit longer, as will PC advocates, though you can expect a TWC compatible website and app no later then the end of Q1 of next year.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
