The Evolution of Batman Logos Since Inception, Now Available in a Poster
Much like the Batman movies, which have seen numerous reboots, so has the character’s logo. And if it were up to me and my very entitled opinion, a whole bunch of those films would have never seen the light of day, let alone received the proverbial movie “green light”. But there is no sense dwelling on what could of been. Instead, I prefer to focus on what was. And in this case it’s all of the Batman logos since the character’s inception, which have been neatly compiled into a purchasable poster by Cathryn Lavery that starts at $37.
Since I’m a child of the 80s, my favorite continues to be the logo created for the 1989 Batman film directed by Tim Burton, and starred Michael Keaton. Despite Nolan’s amazing reboot, his logo choice leaves something to be desired, as does the 1983 version. That said, there are a total of 30 logos spanning from 1940 to 2012.
Each poster (it comes in three sizes) has been officially stamped and will only see a limited edition production run of 500.
