If you’re looking to add some pizzaz to your living room, or simply don’t want folks spilling their drink (when the lights are off), then you need these LED coasters from Philips.
They’re officially called the Philips Lumiware Color Changing Coasters, and include a wireless charging pad so you never have to plug them in – they charge using magnetic induction. I don’t know what their battery life is per charge, but I’d imagine it’s pretty good since they use low power LED lights that can change color simply by tilting the coaster to the left or to the right. It would also seem that you can set the LED Coaster to cycle through the colors on its own, but how I don’t know.
The set of 4 coasters, which cost $50 at Amazon, are completely scratch resistant, and don’t produce any heat, so you don’t have to worry about your ice-cold beer heating up to an unbearable temperature.
Update: the Philips LED Coasters will last for up to 10 hours per charge.
