Mirror Case iPhone Case Lets You Snap Clandestine Photos with Your iPhone 4s
Celebrity or not, no one likes having their photo taken by a complete stranger. The Super-Secret Spy Lens resolves this matter for anyone with a DSLR like camera, but I’ve long wished there was a version for smartphones. And now there is…sort of.
It’s called the Mirror Case. And while it’s not necessarily intended to capture photos of unsuspecting subjects, it most certainly can accomplish such clandestine photos. When the Mirror Case is attached, instead of holding your iPhone in the traditional camera configuration, you simply point the front of the case at the object or subject as if you were taking a photo of the ground. The mirror reflects the image back into the iPhone’s lens and assuming you’ve got their proprietary app installed, it will convert the image accordingly. The company says you can take both video and photos, though I’m assuming that the quality is diminished since its being processed through an app and reflected off a mirror.
Taking a photo in this manner is arguably easier, though odds are the “framing” of the photo will be of lesser quality. Nevertheless, the Mirror Case can also double as a shoulder or neck rest when you can’t hold your iPhone, and the flash is reflected forward much like a household flashlight. So there are some awfully ancillary benefits.
The Mirror Case is available now for $50. Unfortunately, it’s only compatible with the iPhone 4 or 4s.
