Scoring an Ugly Christmas Sweater is as simple as visiting your local Salvation Army, or typing in “Bill Cosby Sweater” into Google. But that’s hardly fun, truly festive, or inventive.
Enter the Burning Fireplace Ugly Christmas Sweater. Invented by Mark Rober, this sweater combines a 3D model, iPad, and his iPad App (Digital Dudz). The video makes the whole thing self explanatory, but in short order it basically slaps a mini fireplace onto your gut, and in turn eclipses all other sweaters of this ilk. To extinguish the virtual burning embers you simply tap the screen, and do the same to relight it. The app actually offers a variety of other animations, including a snow globe which is customizable with your own face.
Unfortunately, and I know you had your hopes up, you can’t buy this sweater out of the box. Instead you’ll have to follow Rober’s instructions, which he also provides completely free of charge.
Grew up back East, got sick of the cold and headed West. Since I was small I have been pushing buttons - both electronic and human. With an insatiable need for tech I thought "why not start a blog focusing on technology, and use my dislikes and likes to post on gadgets."
