You’d have to be stupid to not cash in on the pandemonium and hype that follows Apple, and more importantly the iPhone 5.  Making no such quips about the aforementioned statement is Bose, who today released the SoundDock Series III digital music system.

By all accounts it appears to be the SoundDock Series II.  Except for one small detail: a Lightning dock replaces the now old generation 30-pin connector.  Other than that expect the same remote control, size, and “proprietary acoustic design” that is said to deliver “a unique combination of small size and proven performance.”  And in case you missed it there is even an included AUX input for non-iPhone compatible devices.   Look else where for a wireless experience, as the SoundDock III is devoid of Bluetooth.

The Bose SoundDock Series III is on sale now in black for $250.  The previous generation dock now sells for a discounted $225, and is available in black, white, or gray.
