Having kids often means sacrificing the sports car. Audi thinks otherwise. Last week the German automaker unveiled the 2014 Audi RS6 Avant. It’s a beast to say the least and one that is surely to appeal to those looking for cargo space, practicality, and speeds that will shut up even the most fussy of toddlers.
Under the hood of this 4-door wagon is a twin-turbo 4.0-liter V-8 552 horsepower and 516 lb-ft of torque engine, rocketing it to 60mph in just 3.9-seconds. Lending an assist in the speed and traction departent is Audi’s AWD Quattro system, and a set of twin scroll twin-turbos that deliver peak torque at just 1,750rpm. Annoyingly top speed is electronically limited at 155mph, unless of course you splurge for the Dynamic package and that rises to 174 mph, while the Dynamic plus package bumps top speed to 189.5 mph. All of this power comes with a 24mpg rating, though if you reside in the US that won’t matter, since this car is only destined for European countries.
Sorry, no word on a price or launch date.
